Because of your GENEROSITY, over $19,000 (through financial gifts & gift cards) was given towards GIVEAWAY CHRISTMAS!! And here’s what that means… 50 families from the Woburn High School will receive Christmas meals, toys, clothing and a fun family experience. Absolutely amazing… well done friends, well done!!!
For the THIRD YEAR in a row, GENESIS has the unique opportunity and privilege to come alongside the WOBURN PUBLIC SCHOOLS to support their families in need. This year, we partnered with the High School to identify families who would otherwise struggle to provide Christmas gifts and a meal. As the church, let’s show them how much they are loved!
Our goal is to support the whole family by providing grocery cards plus clothing store gift cards that enable the parents to shop for clothing or other gifts. Since most of the students are teens or pre-teens, we will give the gift of entertainment, such as movie passes or tickets to XTREME Craze, a local arcade and laser tag establishment. We also have a few families whom we have supported in previous years who have younger children with wishes for toy items.
Not only do we get to be generous, but we have the opportunity to involve diverse members of our church community. Teens or children can purchase gift items for someone of similar age; families, groups of friends, or GROUPS can ‘adopt’ a whole family; people can shop with collected funds or serve by organizing gifts/gift cards as they come in.
We currently have 90 children and teens from 45 families to bless this Christmas. Let’s show these families the love of CHRIST through our care and generosity!
HOW CAN YOU BE A PART OF GIVEAWAY CHRISTMAS?
- DONATE directly into our GIVEAWAY CHRISTMAS fund. We seek to collect $17,000 to purchase gift cards for clothing, entertainment and grocery stores.
- SHOP! We need people who can shop for the gift cards, or other items.
- SERVE! We seek to build our TEAM with people who can help receive and organize gifts to distribute to families.
