God is doing a work in you. I don’t know what that work is, but I am 100% confident that God is at work in your life right now.
For me, I need that reminder. And here’s why… I often get so busy just trying to keep up with all that’s happening around my life that I don’t stop long enough to consider what’s happening IN my life.
So, for today, Day #5 in our 21 Days of Prayer, I wanted to keep this ‘devotional thought’ super short and ask you to simply consider one question. It’s not a new question, but it’s an important one –
WHAT IS GOD DOING IN YOU… SO FAR?
I get that we’re only on Day #5, but here’s the thing, the work He’s doing right now might be the very work He does not want you to miss over the next 16 days. So let me ask you again…
WHAT IS GOD DOING IN YOU… SO FAR?
Encouragement – if yes, in what ways?
Challenge – if yes, how so?
Inspiration – if yes, to do what?
Reminder – if yes, what in particular?
I know it’s not always easy to articulate what God is doing in our lives, but often (not always), that’s because we don’t give ourselves enough time to simply sit in places to receive not only what the LORD is seeking to do in our lives, but equally as important, process the work He is seeking to accomplish in our lives.
In other words, it’s hard to receive while constantly in motion… not impossible, but difficult.
So, before you move on to the next thing in your day, take a moment to simply ask the LORD to reveal to you what He is doing IN you… so far.
And whatever that is, GIVE THANKS.
We don’t give thanks because God’s work IN us is always easy or comfortable, rather, we give thanks because God, the Creator and Sustainer of ALL things is at work in our life… that fact alone is both humbling and amazing.
Like you, I really want to see God work through my life… that is a good desire. But not to be lost or forgotten is this… before the ‘through you’ comes, don’t miss what He’s seeking to do ‘IN you.’
