DAY #20 | 2026

by Michael Davis on January 20, 2026

Wow… Day #20… not sure about you, but I keep wondering how on earth did we already arrive at Day #20?  Only one more day to go in our 21 Days of Prayer… wow, that journey went super quick!

I don’t know how you’d describe the past 20 days but as we get ready to complete our journey together, I just wanted to tell you…
YOU DON’T HAVE TO STAY WHERE YOU ARE

Feeling a bit DISCOURAGED – you don’t have to stay there.
STRUGGLING TO HAVE JOY – you don’t have to stay there.
CONFUSED – you don’t have to stay there.
TIREDANXIOUSSTRESSEDOVERWHELMED – you don’t have to stay there.

And how about BLAH – that’s what crept into my heart on more than one day during this journey… you most definitely don’t have to stay there.

Why do we camp out in places that we don’t ultimately want to be?

Maybe, we’ve grown comfortable with where we are even though we don’t like where we are?

Or maybe, for some, it’s the unknown of what life might look like outside of the place we’ve been camping and the steps that we’d need to take to hike out of our camp are just way too daunting?

I don’t know what your ‘why’ is, but I know exactly what my ‘why’ is – I’ve narrowed it down to one thing…
BELIEVING THINGS ABOUT GOD THAT ARE JUST NOT TRUE!

“God doesn’t want to be around me – I haven’t even thought about Him recently.”
“God doesn’t want to be around me – I haven’t picked up my Bible in weeks.”
“God doesn’t want to be around me – my thoughts have been pretty dark recently.”
“God doesn’t want to be around me – I’ve been around way too much sin!”

The list of lies goes on and on and with every lie believed, I just end up booking a few more days in the camp called BLAH or JOYLESS or FEAR or DISCOURAGEMENT.

In hopes to encourage you as we get ready to conclude this journey and as way of reminder, we ALL have the opportunity to exit the camp we’ve been in.  Whether it be Camp BLAH or Camp STRESSED OUT, we don’t have to camp there another day.

But here’s the deal… exiting the camp is not so much about stopping something – in this case believing lies about God.  Don’t get me wrong, that’s important, but equally important is replacing that lie with a Biblical truth.

What is the Biblical truth we need to cling to?
GOD WANTS ME TO BE WITH HIM.
GOD WANTS YOU TO BE WITH HIM!

And just so you know, that biblical truth comes straight out of Psalm 27:8…
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”

God wants ALL of us to hear the invitation of His heart to our heart…
‘Come and talk with Me.’

You and I have a choice.

The invitation has been given.  Will you choose to keep camping where you are, or will you join me in following the example of how the Psalmist responded to God’s invitation…
“And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”?
