21 Days of Prayer
Prayer is a gift. And the gift in prayer is God. GENESIS is setting aside the 1st 21 Days of 2018 to pray... both individually and as a church.
Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray…”
“Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.”
“He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine."

“The Lord’s prayer was given to us in plural form. Prayer is therefore not a strictly private thing. As much as we can, we should pray with others both formally in gathered worship and informally. By praying with friends, you will be able to hear and see facets of Jesus that you have not perceived.”
“Praying was easy when we were children. No embarrassment, no formulas, no clichés, and religiously correct words; we just prayed.”
"EVERYTHING THAT JESUS DID FLOWED FROM A LIFE OF PRAYER."
QUESTION: IS MY LIFE A REACTION TO HOW I’VE BEEN PRAYING OR IS PRAYER JUST A REACTION TO ALL THAT IS HAPPENING IN MY LIFE?
"WE LEARN PRAYER BY PRAYING."
WHAT JESUS TEACHES US ABOUT PRAYER:
1. PRAYER IS COMMUNAL.
2. PRAYER IS RELATIONAL.
- COME AS YOU ARE.
- COME EXPECTANT.
- COME OFTEN.
"PRAYER DOES NOT CHANGE GOD, GOD USES PRAYER TO CHANGE ME."
3. PRAYER IS ABOUT GOD.
4. PRAYER IS FOR US.
