SIMPLY JESUS... Gospel of John
SIMPLY JESUS – that is what the Gospel of John is all about. Jesus – who is He? Why did He come? What did He accomplish? And what does that all mean for me and the world I live in?
“God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light."
“I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist.”
“John’s clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey… But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to watch him baptize, he denounced them. “You brood of vipers!” he exclaimed.”
“But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals.”
“Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success.”
“He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”
“He has come from above and is greater than anyone else… For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit… And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life.”

“For those who embrace the cause of Christ, the cost to participate in the mission of God is nothing less than everything we are and everything we have. Barbarians love to live and live to love. For them God is life, and their mission is to reconnect humanity to Him. If He has won your heart, then to follow your heart will always lead you to follow the heart of God.”
