Prayer

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20 (NLT)

GENESIS prays.  We don’t just talk about prayer, study prayer, or think about prayer; we are committed to praying.  In the fall of 2013, GENESIS spent 40 Days praying – gathering every morning and evening together for corporate prayer.  Needless to say, we learned a valuable lesson about prayer, namely that we pray not in order to get something from God, but to be with God.  We pray together so that we can be with God together.  And when the people of God gather together to pray together, God does immeasurably more.

There are four primary ways you can experience and participate in prayer at GENESIS.

Sunday Morning Prayer

Our goal is to have people praying before, during, and after our worship gathering.  We want all that we do and all the people that attend a Sunday gathering to be covered in prayer.  We ask people to pray in one-hour time slots.  Prayer takes place in the GENESIS prayer room – located by the front entrance of the building.  Here are the one-hour time slots for which you can sign up to pray during:  8:30AM, 9:30AM, 10:30AM, 11:30AM.

Prayer Cards

During the worship gathering, you can fill out a prayer card located in the chair pockets and write your prayer requests on them.  During communion, you can place your prayer card in the prayer frames located next to the communion tables.  These prayer cards are prayed for throughout the week.

Prayer during Communion

If you would like to have someone from our prayer team pray with you, for you, or for someone you know, you are welcome to find those men and women standing near the communion tables during communion with name tags on – they are there to serve you by praying with you and for you.
