At the heart of Redemption Groups is freedom! Galatians 5:1 says “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Too often, our lives - who we are and who we are becoming - is dictated by past pains, hurts, lies believed, current unhealthy behaviors, or a combination of these things. Often, they are hidden from us and can keep us from a close walk with the Lord and experiencing the joy, peace, and freedom we are meant to experience as Christians. If you feel that there is something that is blocking a perfect closeness in your walk with the Lord, Redemption Groups may be helpful for you.
A Redemption Group is a small group intensive with teaching that digs deep into our hearts and minds, sometimes reaching difficult and seldom-discussed areas of life. This is done in the context of Christ’s love and gentleness – “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out” Isaiah 32:3.
GENESIS began Redemption Groups in the fall of 2011 after a group of men and women went through a Redemption Group elsewhere and received the necessary training to lead and facilitate Redemption Groups at GENESIS. Over the past few years, we have seen over 225 people participate in Redemption Groups. We continue to see tremendous fruit in the lives of those who have attended.
