The Psalms are both songbook and journal. The songs point people towards the greatness of God, and the journal entries are prayers, complaints and confessions that help us understand the paradox that is man. God is consistent in who He is – righteous, holy, vast, great, awesome, loving, and compassionate. And man, well, we are all over the place. We are a bundle of emotions, feelings and our minds and hearts are consistently inconsistent. One day, we can’t seem to connect two thoughts about God, but then the next day, we declare He is so close.
This summer, you are invited to join the GENESIS Community as we journey through the Psalms. As we’ll discover, God is not a paradox of emotions and feelings. He is not up and down and all over the place. He is constant and consistent in who He is. Spend this summer getting to know God as He is so that He can transform who we are.
