As 2014 comes to a close in a few weeks, we are gearing up at GENESIS for another phenomenal year of trusting God for greater things.
As we’ve been talking, praying and planning, we wanted to announce some ‘minor’ changes to our worship gatherings in 2015.
VOLUNTEERS
There is an incredible crew of men and women who serve at GENESIS – about 75 people every Sunday between all three worship gatherings. In order to give our volunteers some time to rest and refresh following the Christmas Season, there will be NO evening services on Sunday, December 28th as well as Sunday, January 4th. We will still gather at 9AM and 11AM on these two Sundays, but there will be no evening worship gatherings on either of those Sundays.
GENESIS KIDS PROGRAMMING
We have an incredible crew of GENESIS Kids Volunteers! We are thankful for them and in order to care for them well, we’ve decided to give them a needed break. On Sunday, December 28th and Sunday, January 4th, there will be NO GENESIS Kids programming for The Harbor (4&5) and The Hangar (6-11). We will still staff The Garage (6 weeks-3yrs), but for all kids older than 4, we will invite them to participate with us in worship on these two Sundays. These services will be shortened and family friendly. We will provide Crayons and Coloring pages for all of the kids:)
GENESIS Kids will return to its full programming schedule at ALL three worship gatherings on Sunday, January 11th.
NEW SERVICE TIMES in 2015
Beginning on Sunday, January 11th, we will continue to offer three worship gatherings at the following times: 9AM, 11AM & 5PM. There are no changes to our morning gathering times, but we have decided to begin our evening worship service 30 minutes earlier. Our hope in beginning the 3rd service 30 minutes earlier (at 5PM) is to make this worship gathering more accessible for ALL families to attend.
Saturday Evenings?
Over the past few months, the leadership of GENESIS has been talking about beginning a Saturday evening worship service in place of our Sunday evening service. There are many advantages to making this switch, but after much prayer and deliberation, we’ve decided to ‘wait’ on making this switch. Over the next few months, we will be praying and preparing to make this switch as early as the Fall of 2015 if that’s how the Lord leads.
